The brief
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) provides high-quality, patient-centered care as part of the Dermatology team, coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients within scope of practice. The role includes coordinating plans with medical specialty teams, directing care, performing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, educating residents and students, and supporting department/organizational goals. Core duties include clinical evaluations, documentation, coordinating discharge and follow-up, critical thinking in dermatology care, data interpretation, collaboration for patient outcomes, leadership in practice changes, interdisciplinary collaboration, participation in trials/research, and contributing to outcome measures.
